Meet Tucker!
He is having a great time playing with many doggy friends and learning excellent manners with his new foster dad. Tucker is fine with their kids and cats and loves getting all the exercise he could dream of, firm leadership, and consistent expectations.
Tucker loves toys (especially squeaky ones & tug of war ropes) but usually rips them apart if left alone with them. Toys trump food - and he is not food aggressive. He is very affectionate with his owners and has no problem being handled & likes being groomed (except having nails trimmed).
Tucker is good with cats and dogs once properly introduced. When Tucker was little he had to have hip surgeries so he may need a little help getting in and out of vehicles that are tall, and he can't jump a sturdy fence because of that limitation. He sometimes gets a running start to jump up on things - too cute!
Tucker is very sensitive AND smart. He is afraid of some household noises like the vacuum cleaner. He sometimes is protective of household; and is territorial by nature so firm leadership is important so Tucker realizes he doesn't need to take that job. Tucker's fave snacks are peanut butter & cottage cheese. He also is a fan of Dairy Queen soft serve ice cream (doggie dish with bone on top).
Tucker is crate trained, and goes to crate for comfort & will sleep there at night (when not on someone's bed). He loves walks and knows some basic commands. He is s good passenger and a lovebug with his humans!
Tucker's new family will benefit from some initial training which will be provided by the rescue so that Tucker's next transition will be to a forever home. |
